95 photos of the features of different installation options

In the arrangement of homestead plots much attention is paid to the construction of high-quality and reliable fencing. Its task should be not only the safety of private home owners, but also the aesthetic appeal, the ability to fit into the surrounding landscape.

A popular solution to this problem is the use of inexpensive and at the same time durable Rabitzi mesh. And how to properly install it on the site we will tell in our article.

Brief content of the article:

Rabitz netting: what is it?

This material is a web, which consists of spirals of wire type. They are tightly woven together. Thanks to this technology, the individual fragments can be easily joined together.

The material is characterized by a large variety of mesh sizes – from 20 to 100 mm. The height of the roll can be from 1 to 2 m with a pitch of 0,5 m.

Types of mesh

Low-carbon steel can be used to make this material. Then the mesh for the fence is plastic. But if stainless steel is used, the fence will be rigid.

As for the decoration of the building, it is preferable the absence of bright colors, and especially colors like blue or pink. Those colors that they paint houses in modern cottage towns – just cause amazement. There are, of course, and lovers of bright colors, but the house should not be conspicuous because of the color, and should be more to attract its architectural solutions.

When choosing you should also consider the size of the cells. After all, the smaller it is, the more reliable fence will be as a barrier against small animals. But it will be heavier and more expensive. Therefore, it is recommended to opt for a mesh of 50×50 mm.

You can also choose a variant by type of external coating:

  • Non-galvanized black wire webbing. It can not be the best option as a fence. After all, its quality is very low – it begins to rust quickly. Therefore, its service life is limited and constant painting is required.
  • Galvanized fence mesh is a higher quality material that will last much longer. It is moisture-resistant, so it does not require regular painting. But its price will be an order of magnitude higher.
  • Plasticized mesh is covered with a special durable polymer coating, the color of which is varied and can be matched to the style of design of other elements of the dacha interior.

Advantages of the material

There are many positive points that speak in favor of rabiza as a material for the arrangement of the fence:

  • high strength, as well as resistance to external influences and mechanical damage;
  • freely transmits light, does not shade the site;
  • Withstands an increased load;
  • unpretentious care;
  • long service life, especially if you put a fence made of polymer mesh;
  • Possibility of decorative design;
  • low cost and availability of the material;
  • ease of transportation and installation.

At the same time, you should consider that the Rabitz chain-link fence will not hide you from prying eyes, will not provide soundproofing, will require periodic staining and protection from rust if you install a non-galvanized mesh.

Preparing to install fencing

In order for the fence to be strong and last a long time, it is necessary to solve a number of organizational issues and prepare for its installation. There is nothing complicated about it, but this stage is very important.

Project Definition

At the initial stage, you should determine the location of the dacha fence, the surrounding landscape, topography features, the length of the fence and the possibility of anchoring the posts. Additionally, you need to decide what type of fastening and frame will be used. You have the following options available to you:

  • Stretch construction. Requires the installation of supports, on which the rabiza is stretched. The cost of construction is minimal, but the material will eventually sag.
  • Stretch fencing with a wire broach. It eliminates sagging.
  • The sectional option is more expensive and reliable, involving the installation of a special angle for the frame.

Structural Calculation

The consumption of cloth in linear meters depends, of course, on the size of the area. Therefore, you need to make clear measurements. The length of wire used for stretching is taken as two lengths of the fence. And if the fence is up to 1.5 m in height, then 2-3 pieces should be enough.

The number of posts depends on the length of the structure, and you need to consider the step between them about 2.5 m. When selecting the length of the profile angle, take into account the perimeter of the frame and multiply it by the number of sections.

Installing a tension fence

Making a good fence with your own hands is easy enough. The main thing is to follow the sequence of actions and pay attention to detail.

Preparing and marking out the site

It is not necessary to thoroughly clean the installation site. It is enough to clear debris and vegetation directly at the site of the fence.

Then at the locations of the outermost pipes you need to hammer in pegs and string string at a height of about 100 mm. If you get a curved line with curves, then in the appropriate places it is necessary to fix beacons with fixing rope. At the points where the intermediate posts are installed, place the pegs with the same distance between them.

Installing poles

To install the posts with a garden drill, you need to make holes up to 80-120 cm deep. Their size depends on the characteristics of the soil – for less dense soil, you will need to drill a bigger hole. The hole should exceed the diameter of the support. At the bottom lay a cushion of crushed stone and sand 100 mm thick.

At the next stage of the installation of the fence from the mesh is made fixing the supporting supports. To do this, the posts must be prepared:

  • Metal poles are cleaned of rust and stains, weld spots are cleaned, the surface is primed and painted;
  • wooden poles must be treated with antiseptic.

The poles should be installed taking into account the possibility of soil swelling in the spring. They are sunk 200 mm below the frost point of the soil. Corner supports are placed first. The support, treated with corrosion protection mastic, is installed in a hole and poured with concrete.

To prepare the mortar, you need to mix sand and cement in the proportion of 1 to 2, mix, then add 2 parts of crushed stone, and after adding water – mix again. Supports are often first placed at 350-400 mm, and then hammered into the required depth with a sledgehammer. The intermediate pillars are fastened in a similar way to the level of the base pillars.

You can also start the installation of the fence by filling in the holes with the supports with layers of butte, soil and again with rubble stone. Each layer is carefully tamped.

Securing the webbing.

The rabiza reel is mounted vertically at the first corner support. The end of the fabric is attached to the hooks that were previously welded to the pipe. In the absence of fasteners, the cloth should be firmly screwed in 3-4 places with a steel wire.

The bottom edge of the material should be 100-150 mm above ground level to prevent debris accumulation. To reduce sagging, a reinforcing bar is passed vertically through the first row of cells and welded to the post.

The roll is then tautly unrolled and fastened to the next post. To avoid sagging of the material along the perimeter of the fence at the top and bottom of it at a distance of 100-200 mm from the edges, pass a steel wire.

All the ends of the hooks and wire should be carefully bent inside, and plugs should be put on the posts. The result of the work you can see in the photos of the fence from the mesh on the site.

Installation of sectional fence

Putting up a sectional fence is also fairly easy, although you will need help. Supports are put in the same way as for the tension version. However, for mounting will be used metal plates 150×50 mm thicker than 5 mm. They are placed at the top and bottom of the post at a distance of 200 mm from the edges.

After installing the supports, it is necessary to measure to make the frame. Take the distance between the posts in height and width and subtract up to 200 mm for the width of the angle. Its dimensions are 30×4 or 40×5 mm. Angles are welded in the shape of a rectangle, cleaned and ground surfaces.

The web roll is unrolled to the required length. Excess material is trimmed with a bolt cutter. In the outermost rows on each of the four sides should be passed bars of rebar, without connecting each other. After you lay the cloth on the frame, it is necessary to weld reinforcing bars to it from the inside of the angle.

First attach the first side bar, then both horizontal bars, and finally the second side bar. When installing a welded mesh fence, you can fasten the horizontal bars first, and then tension and weld the vertical ones.

The section should be lifted and welded to the metal plates on the supports. It is also acceptable to drill holes in the plate and fasten the section with bolts. Attachment of the following links should be carried out evenly in a row, without slippage and displacement. The fence should be primed and painted.

It’s easy enough to build a chain-link fence, and you can do it yourself. The material is strong and durable, and the assembled fence is easy to decorate, giving it a look that matches the surrounding landscape.
